Why I Start with an Introductory Call

Once you are ready to start therapy the first thing (and often the hardest) is to drop me a line by email, text or WhatsApp telling me a little bit about you and why you have made the decision to start on this journey. Then we will arrange to have a short video chat. This is a chance for you to tell me a little more about what brings you to therapy and what you hope to get from it. It’s also a chance to learn a bit more about me, how I work and what you can expect and get a feel for online therapy if that’s the route you choose. I do this because a lot of the magic of therapy lies in the relationship you have with your therapist – this chat is the first chance we both have to see how it feels, if it feels like a good fit. Do we feel comfortable working together? There is no obligation to take it any further if it doesn’t feel right. Therapy is a big investment of your time, money and energy so it’s important to me that you get what you need from it by finding someone you feel comfortable with – if that’s not me then it's great you found that out before spending too much of your valuable resources on it. If however, you think you would like to work with me then we can make an appointment for your first session.
You can book a free introductory call here if you'd like to find out more.
